Go Big and Go Home

This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can bring multiple generations together while maintaining individual privacy and comfort. The family came to us with a vision of creating two homes on the same property — a spacious main residence for their family, and a custom-designed mother-in-law cottage that would allow for independent living, while still fostering connection.

This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can bring multiple generations together while maintaining individual privacy and comfort.

The design needed to balance two very different living needs: the main residence was to be spacious and open, ideal for the growing family, while the mother-in-law cottage required a cozy, self-sufficient space that could still feel integrated with the family’s aesthetic and lifestyle.

The result is a seamless combination of two distinct homes, each with its own charm but linked through a cohesive design language that honors the classic Lowcountry architecture. Both homes feature expansive, open living areas, gorgeous kitchen spaces, and plenty of connection to the outdoors — essential for enjoying the coastal climate.
