The Old Town Overhaul is a whole-house renovation that merges the historic charm of a well-loved home with modern comforts and design sensibilities. Nestled in the heart of a historic downtown district, this renovation project was a delicate balancing act: preserving the character of the home’s architectural features while breathing new life into the interiors to suit the needs and lifestyle of a young couple and their two children.
From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that this home had a story to tell. The original details, such as hardwood floors, crown molding, and classic architectural touches, were worth preserving.
But the home also needed significant updates to accommodate modern living and more space for their active children. The homeowners wanted a space that was both functional and visually appealing — one that embraced the past while also embracing the present.
Alongside the preservation work, we upgraded the home’s infrastructure, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. We also made subtle adjustments to the floorplan to improve the flow and functionality of the space — opening up cramped rooms, totally reimagining the kitchen, and constructing new rooms within an addition and new garage.
